This is the aim of the Fécamp offshore wind farm in northern France. This major project involves positioning 71 wind turbines at sea, which are estimated to be able to cover the electricity requirements of approximately 60% of the inhabitants of Senna Marittima.
The position where they will be installed is particularly suitable for an offshore wind farm, as it is regularly windy with a fairly shallow seabed, approximately 30 m deep over the area involved in the project, which amounts to approximately 60 km2.
Preshaped rebar framework by Presider and Presider Armatures
The wind farm structures will be positioned between 13 and 22 km off the coast of the town of Fécamp, and will be positioned on solid foundations housing B500B quality pre-shaped rebar framework custom-made by two companies in the Feralpi Group, namely Presider and Presider Armatures. Overall, approximately 10,000 tonnes of steel are involved.
Reliable service in terms of product availability, and the quality of the raw materials in terms of geometry and chemical analysis were the features that led the customer to entrusting the work to the Feralpi Group. This is a complex job because it requires processing cambered steel to design specifications, precisely in accordance with the bend radius of the bars.

The first supplies were delivered in November 2020 and will continue for 18 months, and the entire wind farm project is scheduled for completion in 2023.
