Giuseppe Pasini was born in Odolo in the province of Brescia on 17th August 1961. He was awarded an Industrial Expert diploma from the State Technical Industrial Institute in 1979 and
three years later joined his father, Carlo Pasini, working for the family company Feralpi S.p.A. in 1982.
The Feralpi Group is one of Europe’s largest and most qualified steel producers, whose core business has always been making steel for the construction industry, although it later branched out into other areas such as the environment, ecology, finance and fish-farming.
Planned development of the steel business has led to the acquisition of important companies in Italy and other European countries – Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. The Group’s current success is the result of progressive growth in terms of production and economic development on an international scale.
Positions held within the Group
On the premature death of his father in 1983, Giuseppe Pasini was appointed CEO of Feralpi Siderurgica S.p.A. He became president in January 2008.
In 2007 he became president of Feralpi Holding S.p.A., which was established in 2004 following the reorganisation of the Group.
In November 2014 he was appointed Chairman of the Development Committee for the Brescia area at Banco Popolare, Italy’s largest cooperative bank.
Giuseppe Pasini joined the Brescian Industrial Association in 1998 as a member of the board. He was elected to the Governing Board in 2005 and was appointed Deputy Chairman with responsibility for Environment, Safety and Social Responsibility in June 2013.
He has been a member of Confindustria’s National Board since 2004.
He became a member of the Board of Directors of the Comunità Bresciana non-profit foundation in Brescia in May 2009.
He was the president of Federacciai (the Federation of Italian Steel Companies) from December 2001 to June 2012, the president of Confindustria Metalli (the Federation of National Metal Industry Associations) from May 2009 to June 2012.
In June 2016 he was appointed coordinator of the Confindustria Energy Technical Table.
In June 2017 he was elected president of AIB (Industrial Association of Brescia).
He became a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Aletti – banco BPM Group in April 2018
Giuseppe Pasini won Ernst & Young’s prestigious “Businessman of the Year” award in the Global category in 2003 and the Quality of Life category in 2006.
He received the Lombary Region’s “Lombardy for Work” award in 2006.
In March 2009 he received from the Italian Metallurgy Association the prestigious “Federico Giolitti Steel Medal” award, presented to him by Prof. Nicodemi, chairman of the Governing Board.
